Having added the bistro set to the front garden, we made good use of it to enjoy an early morning coffee which meant, as I was sat there, my eye was drawn to the clematis flowering over the porch. It has been cut back after becoming huge last year but it still looks lovely in the sunshine, very welcoming.
Alison was off to Sandra's for the day which gave me the opportunity to get lots done but the first thing I did was take Juno for a walk interspersed with a run for me through Remedy Oak golf course. I'd already done a fair bit by the time I got on the bike but I took the lon way round to the West Moors allotment. It was a beautiful ride through Holt Heath and being off road, I could relax and take in the gorgeous morning.
I'd gone to the allotment to water the plants I put in yesterday, the squash, tomatoes and strawberries and to get some more weeding done. The jobs are almost done there for now with care of the seedlings and plants next.
On the way back I popped into Joy's to check on her and then it was home for a dog walk, this time into the bluebell woods where Juno runs to exhaustion before plunging into the small stream for lots of water. The flowers are past their best now but they still look stunning in their blue.
Then it was into the garden for grass cutting, edging the lawn, filling the pond after the recent absence of rain which should help the tadpoles and newts a little. I enjoyed cutting the hedge with hand shears whilst listening to In Our Time about King David of Scotland, the 'perfect king'. Very interesting.
