Monday morning

I am spoilt at present with the opportunity to be retired from work and start the week as I like. In this case, dog walk to Remedy Oak golf course, a 5 mile run run the same venue, housework and making of homemade lentil soup to have after a quick 9 holes of golf at Crane Valley.

The round was a good one this week with 7 hots over the par 33, a 40 which would benefit from losing two 6s at the first and at the last!

Back home now to listen to the start of Scala Radio with Simon Mayo presenting the opening programme. I'll follow that with some writing this afternoon.

Happy days!!!

Storm Freya

Out for a four mile run this morning in rain and strong winds as the latest storm hits. Quite a contrast with the heatwave of last week with record temperatures for February.

I enjoyed the run. Once you've got started the rain doesn't really matter and it can be quite refreshing.

I managed five miles yesterday and am enjoying lots of walking, running and a bit of cycling. That is interspersed with trips down to Verwood where I have finished the new arbour for Joy, wood stained it and sorted out lots of other little jobs, including bird feeders which are now in the right places, filled and attracting more birds already.

Marking underway, not such a burden as the 120+ mock exam scripts, and there's Parents' Evening this week, as well as the day of teaching. The plan is to visit Southampton on Friday, just for a few hours, and then return home. Not wanting to get carried away drinking!

The other priority this week is getting back into the writing after half term hiatus.

Digging for the harvesting

I was completely wiped out after yesterday's exertions with a run, dog walks and then a few hours at W allotment digging over beds ready...
