27th July

A busy day. Dog walk with Maria on her bike and Alison and I walking the goat farm walk. From there it was time for golf which was not great at all with 9 holes taking 5 extra shots! Very poor. Some good things amongst some real duff shots.

Did tofu and cashew nut salad for lunch with Bridie having taken the children to the lego exhibition at the BIC.

That gave Alison and myself the opportunity to visit Joy and Robin, the first time I had seen him for 15 months, go to the dump, where Alison got herself some old kitchen furniture for the children's play area, and visit the garden centre. Alison bought lots of plants and two bags of pebbles for the play area.

In the meantime I had run to Verwood to meet Alison in the heat of this scorching summer. 3.6 miles but most of it downhill!

Long dog walk to village green this evening, after a tea of pasta and veg.

Stand out birds today were the house martins at the village green and two green woodpeckers feeding on the football pitch.

26th July Golf

An early start so dog walked and 3.5 mile to Remedy Oak golf course and back completed by 8.30am. Went to Crane Valley golf course and joined Woodland course for £221.00 a year, giving me option of playing 9 hole course whenever I like. Par is 33 for the 9 holes and I took 44 this morning which can only improve. However, 4 holes were at par. Interestingly, they are the shorter ones. I need to learn how to hit the ball consistently over longer distances. Trying too hard?

July 25th

Busy day with a dog walk, 5km run, 8.5 mile cycle to Knowlton Church (over 16mph), hedge cutting and fixinf door of conservatory. I then went for a walk to Remedy Oak golf course and saw plenty of speckled wood butterflies with very few birds in evidence. Just wood pigeons and a goldfinch.

The weather remains fantastic with hours and hours of sunshine. Managed a run and then rode to Bridie's to take delivery of her new fridge. It was then time for round 2 of hedge cutting followed by a walk around the goat farm where pied wagtails were the most numerous birds in evidence. Very quiet given the heat in the early afternoon.

I sat in the front garden for a little while and remembered to take a photo. Lots of the back but few of the front.

Lentil bake and jacket potato for tea and time for phone calls to family. Getting lots of ticks in my to do list.

Evening dog walk

How lovely to enjoy the warm evening and come across this beautiful roe deer near Chapel Lane.

July 23rd summer holiday

It has been a very hot summer so far and today has been no exception. I walked round the goat farm walk and have pictured the parched fields. Delighted to see the buzzard and to get something of a shot of it.
Have got the front  hedge cut, fixed tap in downstairs bathroom and cut the grass, as well as got a run in and dog walk.

Digging for the harvesting

I was completely wiped out after yesterday's exertions with a run, dog walks and then a few hours at W allotment digging over beds ready...
