Time to catch up

It had looked like we had a quiet weekend on the cards but it turned out to be busy in the best way with a visit from Chrissie and the two youngest girls which meant a late Saturday night and foggy start to Sunday morning when Maria was off to dance. We were joined by Bride, Joy, Joe, Kate, Evie and Amelia for a Sunday dinner and the afternoon after a walk around the goat farm before lunch.

Come Monday morning I was back on the exercise trail to make up for all the excesses of the weekend and ground out a 5 and a bit mile run, a ride to Verwood and back to the library and several lengthy dog walks.

Today I got the bike on the road to West Moors to plant some seeds at the new allotment, our first planting at the site. It was a cold ride though with quite a bitter wind blowing constantly. The shallots went in along with a row of lettuce, a row of carrots and a final row of perpetual spinach. We'll see how it goes but this is a real bonus on top of the allotment as Wimborne. The ride back was something of a voyage of discovery and I managed to source a route which stays off the main road, a speey and busy road which is intimidating to cyclists, no matter how experienced they are. Alison is not keen on it at all and this one will be much better putting us on pavements and permissive ways.

Once home, Alison and I did a bit of gardening before I started on the tasks remaining from the village hall meeting the other weekend. It is already more onerous than I had hoped! We'll see how involved I can be without getting fed up with having to be responsible.
