Woodlands walk

I took the opportunity of a quiet day in terms of family visits to go for a walk round the village heading down Whitmore Lane and into the woods, across to Remedy Oak, back to the crossroads and down to the entrance to Remedy Oak golf course. I took the scenic walk round to Slough Lane and then up Devil's Hill and out towards Mannington before heading left and down to Verwood. From there I was able to go across Dewlands and back up to Woodlands via Crane Valley golf course.

It ended up being just over 9 1/4 miles in three hours during which I listened to the film podcast with Simon Mayo and Mark Kermode, The Iliad and then the Classic FM Hall of Fame.

Highlights included Canada Geese, Roe Deer and the first swallows of the summer, 7 of them clustered around a large field full of sheep and lambs.

The photo looking back from near the remedy oak to the village looks great in giving a sense of the space surrounding us.

Beach walk

We all seem to be ill. Maria's dance showcase on Saturday evening was great but since then it has been downhill. Alison has been in bed...
