It was another cold day yesterday and a day of firsts, as I found myself running down to Verwood and cutting Joy's lawns as snow fell. It is true that there wasn't an awful lot but it was nevertheless actual snow.
I ran down across country and came out on the Three Cross to Verwood road completing a shade under 5 miles in total. The scarifier got an airing again, as I keep trying to remove a lot of the moss from the front garden. There is so much of it there were piles at the edges of the lawn which I left for the birds to use for nesting.
Having cut the front lawn I did the back and then spent a few minutes raking a patch in the vegetable garden to prepare it for planting a few beetroot seeds and some shallots which Joy enjoys.
Maria was seeing a friend in Alderholt and I took her in the car which gave me the opportunity to stop and pick myself up a few logs. I'd noticed them months ago just off the road when i had been past running and wanted to take some back home because they were so big. They took quite a lot of lifting but there are three massive logs or stumps for sitting on in the garden, or maybe simply for decoration. I'll be collecting some more I think.
