I did better this February than in 2020 when I had the flu which made exercise impossible for a couple of weeks and left me feeling very tired after even gentle exercise for quite some time. I never got caught up properly on the step count for the year as a result, for example, and that gives an idea of just how little I did during that month.
This February was affected by the trip to the Hebrides where the poor weather made getting out much more difficult or at least less attractive. There were also whole days when I was travelling which limited anything I could do. Despite this I managed:
Bike - 32 miles
Running - 99 miles
Total - 131 miles
That compares with the January total of 160 miles. In 2020 I had managed 177 miles in January but only 70 miles in February. On balance I am ahead for the year. The target for March is 200 miles having done 191 miles last year boosted by 100 miles on the bike. That would have been the start of lockdown and rides to the allotment.
