Bank Holiday

I always seem to be writing about the weather on here but once more I can't avoid mentioning the awful weather for the Bank Holiday in late spring. It has become very windy and there was plenty of rain which I can understand after such a long spell without it raining. However, it is the fact it is so cold that is getting on my nerves. Usually this would be mild and wet and windy but it is chilly and unpleasant when the temperatures ought to be rising.

Having said that, we did get out with the children yesterday for a lovely walk in the bluebell woods. This was before the weather turned wet and we have never seen so many people in 'our' woods. The lure of the bluebells must be part of it, they are gorgeous, but also it being a holiday and people wanting to get out before the forecast high winds and rain. The children explored the stream and were in out and of it constantly, trekking deeper into the woods and getting lost in their explorer games, Joseph imagining himself as a Bear Grylls type.

We had Evie and Amelia until tea time and are looking forward to seeing them for the wedding celebrations at the end of the month. There is so much to do with the trip to Devon, the walk, the wedding and so on.

Very exciting month ahead, full of birthdays too.

Beach walk

We all seem to be ill. Maria's dance showcase on Saturday evening was great but since then it has been downhill. Alison has been in bed...
