Lots going on, especially with the weather picking up, the strong winds notwithstanding. There are so many things to enjoy outside whether walking, running or riding and I have been doing plenty of both.
I managed a second 10km run after one last Monday and this time got under an hour for the run which took me 6.6 miles in the end. I'd also been back down to Moors Valley on the mountain bike and had a run before cycling back on a route which took me down Devil's Hill.
The walk round the goat farm was full of bird life with long tailed tits in the hedges, two buzzards, one of them on the ground in a field, several canada geese and a blackbird in full song, as well as countless robins and great tits conspicuous from their repetitive calls.
This morning I've been on a 14 mile ride to Edmondsham, stopping to take a picture of the church there which always looks so lovely, onto Cranborne, Wimborne St Giles, Gussage All Saints and Horton before coming up Kings Lane and home. Lots of daffodils and grey squirrels dashing across quiet roads and hanging on to branches hanging across the road.
Maria has enjoyed being back at school which is very welcome after so long away and she has been engaged by some classic black and white films, The 39 Steps and The Lady Vanishes, one we watched yesterday evening.
The heating is going to be changed next week with the green energy grant firm looking to put us on air heat pump by the end of the week meaning no more coal, ash, dusting and so on. Cannot wait.
