Paris Day 2
Our first full day in Paris was Saturday when there was a little drizzle which made it quite chilly as we searched for somewhere to have breakfast. The search took us alongside the Tuilleries and further than we'd anticipated up to the Place de la Concorde before we found the brasserie shown in picture 1. As we walked we came to a tourist office where we bought our passes for the museums and other attractions which not only give discount (as long as you actually visit the places) but mean you bypass the massive queues.
The first time we used the passes was at the Arc de Triomphe which features in all of the remaining photos. There is a view from the top down the Champs Elysees, one across to the Eiffel Tower and a photo of Bridie and Georgina who walked up with me as Alison waited with Maria. The final one is from the road where I managed to get beeped at twice as I stood in the road taking pictures.
There was real drama around as well as a guy snatched a handbag and ran off pursued by three police officers who it has to be said, looked about as fast as me as they gave chase. Further interest was provided by an American film crew shooting at the Arc de Triomphe causing us all to be asked to refrain from taking pictures duing the filming.
