Paris Day 1

We visited Paris for the first time on August 1st and travelled by Eurostar from St Pancras. The journey was great with the train feeling as if it was barely moving despite the speeds it reaches of about 186mph. That meant we arrived in Gard du Nord very quickly and were soon in our hotel in Rue de Richelieu which is about 500m from the Louvre. We got out of the hotel after unpacking and explored the area, amazed at how big the Louvre is - the building is massive and very imposing.

The first picture shows Bridie, Alison, Georgina and the top of Maria's head on one of the many bridges across the Seine. The next one is of the Hotel de Ville which is approached by a quirkily set out park full of odd seats and recliners sculpted in wood. There is a nature area as well as fountains making for an attractive setting. The final photos are of Notre Dame which we were again overwhelmed by such was its stature and beauty.
