Rome - Day Three
This was Saturday and again we left the boys in the hotel during the day so as to avoid the heat and boredom of too much sight seeing. As you will see from the first picture, they had already been and bought themselves replica football kits celebrating Italian success in the World Cup. They were playing Streetfighter 2 on the laptop while we walked the streets of Rome with a mixture of shopping and sight seeing in mind. The shops are quite unlike UK although brands are the same. They are much less obvious in many ways, not department stores as such and spaced widely apart.
We had seen a lot of adverts for the Galleria Borghese and decided to try and find it without actually knowing the address. It started as guesswork and allowed me to try and find directions from various people including the local police. The closest we got was the Spanish Steps before giving up from exhaustion as much as anything.
They were so crowded and we'd left the boys long enough, but that became our mission for the week: to find the Raphael Exhibition at the Gallery. Only time would tell if we could be successful.

The other picture is of a basillica in Rome but I forget where. There are so many!
Once back at the hotel, we explored the Trastevere again where there were a couple of open air concerts taking place, absolutely chock full of tourists!
