We took Bridie, Joseph and Maria with us to Monkey World yesterday and met up with Joe, Kate and the girls at 10am to enjoy a trip out in the company of these wonderful animals. Knowing that the work the park does is of such importance and seeing the monkeys and apes so content, especially within the context of their previous lives, makes the day even more enjoyable. It is a pleasure to be able to put some money their way.
The chimps were great with one of them collecting the straw for a bed and another hidden under a blanket until it walked off with it wrapped around it, just the face uncovered. The woolly monkeys were also entertaining, as were the capucin monkeys. However, the real stars were the orang utans which were numerous in the park and moved with such languid elegance, other than when walking. You could watch them for hours.
