Sparkshop winners!

Incredibly the cup run has sparked a run of form putting the team near the top of the league after 2 recent victories despite initial setbacks.

We started with just 4 players and awaited the arrival of Pete, new Matt and Mike in the first game and it wasn't long before we were 2 down and staring defeat in the face.

However, the guys eventually parked and sauntered along in relaxed fashion only to see us pull a goal back with a shot from long range. Their keeper misplaced a kick out and was stranded to one side of the goal. I managed to get a shot away from our own half and was fortunate to see it land in the goal meaning we were back in it as we gained full strength. Character was shown in pulling level after a flowing move which left me free on one side of the area with new Matt square. The lay off left him the task of smashing the ball in which he did with aplomb.

I scored a second for myself and the goal which pulled us ahead when new Matt flicked a headed ball through and I hit home into the top corner. There was more to come with new Matt scoring again with a carbon copy goal to his first as we went 4 - 2 up and into the comfort zone.

This week the problems were to do with personnel again as Matt was absent in Leicester(?), Dougie unavailable and me stuck at school. I understood the game would be forfeited but Kev pulled a team out of the bag and they ran out 1 - 0 winners with 3 pint Pete scoring the only goal of the game.

A big result that means we're rocketing up the table.
