After the last few weeks of waiting for the league to be wrapped up Rossgarth may have fallen at the final hurdle to use a well worn sports reporting phrase. Needing a win to clinch the league they lost 3 - 0 to a determined Wareham side. The pitch sloped and there was a swirling wind and they adapted to the conditions far better after the opening 10 minutes when Rossgarth dominated procedings. Unable to open the scoring in that period of dominance, the teams turned round level and Wareham made full use of the slope to power their way to goal three times in an uneven second half. It hasn't been often this season that Rossgarth have been second best, they were in the second half.
That still leaves Chickerell with a game to play next weekend and they will win the league if they win that game. A draw would leave Rossgarth as league winners.
On the plus side, it has been good to see Plymouth continue their improvement under Tony Pulis and even better to see Paul Ince score a fine own goal on Saturday.
No game for Thirty Plus tonight as we sit in fifth place out of 11, the league over for another season.
