Late sunshine

Friday was unexpectedly sunny by the afternoon and continued in the same vein through Saturday. I stopped in WM at the allotment on the way to collect Maria taking four more bags of compost along so the beds are nicely fed before planting in the Spring.

Peacock butterful was making the most of the sunshine.

There are several squashes coming and I picked lots of runner beans. The leeks are doing well, as are the few parsnips. In the cold frame, the lettuce, spinach and herbs are ready to be picked.

That evening Maria stayed at home with Bridie and Joseph for company whilst Alison and I drove to Sandra's for an overnight stay. The field full of sunflowers looked great in the early evening.

We had a good walk on Sat morning with Sandra and Pixie before heading home for a day of football, the Liverpool evening game in particular and then a very long Strictly.
