The game on Monday was very tight and could have gone either way. The difference was the little bit of luck ran with them for the opening goal in the second half leaving us chasing the game. The defence played well throughout but Matt was missed in the middle with the new formation yet there were plenty of chances for us to score.
The result is the first reverse for the team in some time and it will be interesting to see if we can bounce straight back.
It's been a week since I returned to school after a very lengthy absence. Little has changed as might be expected but I am wondering just how worthwhile it is to keep returning to the same students over and over again who, despite so much intervention, are not only not making progress, they are getting worse! It doesn't make sense to keep going back at the expense of so many useful things we could be doing such as supporting students in their exam preparation, mentoring, rewarding excellence, boosting a culture of achievement and ambition.
